Belarus and Austria women will go head-to-head for Gold medals on Sunday (1 May) at the European Curling Championships C-Division 2016 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In the men’s championship it is Estonia and France who will play for Gold.

The winner of these games – to be played at 12.00 (Central European Summer Time, CEST) tomorrow – will qualify for the European B-Division to be held at Braehead in Glasgow, Scotland in [18-26] November – part of the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2016.

The losers will then play the winners of the 3 v 4 games – between Lithuania and Spain women and Bulgaria and Ireland men – for the second qualification places to the B-Division.

Belarus women won all seven of their round-robin games, while Austria women won five from seven. Belarus beat Lithuania 8-4 today (Saturday 30 April) in their final round-robin game, while Austria had a 13-5 win over Ireland.

Estonia won their tenth round-robin game – of ten – beating Croatia 7-6. Meanwhile, France had two games today to complete their round-robin campaign. First they won against Luxembourg 10-3 before losing out to Belarus 3-10.

Tomorrow (Sunday 1 May), the 1 v 2 [Gold Medal Games] and 3 v 4 games will take place at 10.00, followed by the Silver Medal Games [loser of the 1 v 2 games and winner of the 3 v 4 games] at 15.00. Both times are CEST and apply to the men’s and women’s championships.
